Let’s Assume That Mr. Trump Demands That Canada “Give In Or It’s War”. It Will Simply Show That Trump & America Don’t Know Canadians At All!

Today I want to address the downstream development potential that will present itself if we Canadians are pushed to the point of actually fighting with America.

Oh, I know, many of you will be saying that I’m just paranoid as you did when I said a year and a half ago, before Trump took over as President that “the ultimate American goal is to militarily take over Canada“.

Well, I still believe my assessment back then to be as relevant today as it was back then. Mr. Trump is trying very hard to find or create an issue that justifies America militarily trying to take over Canada. I say trying as America tried this before and it didn’t work out so well for them.

Every Canadian owes a tremendous debt of gratitude for Mark Carney volunteering to serve as our Prime Minister or we literally would have ended up in decidedly a death spiral as a nation. Please a a moment to reflect on this very real possible outcome if not for him handling our affairs.

I have to admit that it disturbs me greatly to see the Conservative Party constantly attacking our Prime Minister with lies and deception, as he wards off this hostile American attack on our country.

It bewilders and offends me to see how logistically flawed our political system has gotten. We have an official Opposition Party who’s sole role and activity is based on attacking and harassing our highly qualified Prime Minister who has observably done an incredible job of protecting our nation.

Lying has always been an unforgivable sin to Canadians but you can see the influence that MAGA thinking people have infiltrated our politics with. Disappointingly, Mr. Poilievre can be seen constantly lying, misleading, attacking and maligning PM Carney (the guy that actually won the election) and we taxpayers go on paying his salary, supplying him an estate to live in with maids, a driver and groundskeeper (all being paid by us taxpayers).

Today I’m simply laying out a logical progression of things if Donald Trump and his MAGA crew of clowns should ever get their way.

The Trade negotiations to date shows just how flagrantly corrupt Trump and his band of clowns truly are. This entire “America does not need Canada” charade is straight up bullshit designed to influence America’s uneducated voters to support the corruption that has consumed them.

Much like the Iran debacle the Hormuz straight open prior to Mr. Trump interfering by launching this all out war (following having done the same with Venezuela while threatening Cuba, Columbia, Panama, and of course Canada, and that just names a few), America had “the best deal in the world” (in Trump’s own words after mafia tactics were used to rewrite NAFTA) before his most recent attempt at this round of trade war . . . the trade relationship (CUSMA) was open with their friends/neighbours to the north before Mr. Trump chose to lie his way to where we find ourselves today!

So, let’s assume that Canada gets forced to take one of the only two options presented to us by Mr. Trump. Now if Trump knew Canadians at all, he would have known that we would never succumb to his pressure tactics, so that would lead to conclude that it was fight time.

The logical first step in such a fight would be for both sides to “close the border“. Mr. Trump has already threatened exactly this so I wanted to consider what the fallout would be..

You see, America is more dependent on Canada than most people realize. We’re not just talking about maple syrup or hockey sticks here. We’re talking about the very materials that keep America’s military, their energy grid, their food supply, and even their cars and trucks moving. So, let’s get into it.

I’m going to show the top things the United States would immediately run out of if Trump managed to erase that invisible border and the border slammed shut.

Let’s start with aluminum for things like, say fighter jets, missiles, cars and trucks right through to beer cans. You probably don’t think about aluminum as something that’s critical to national security, but think again. Canada is the primary supplier of the high-grade aluminum to the United States which it needs for its military, to keep lights on in factories and homes, grow their crops to feed themselves, produce televisions and everything that requires rare earth minerals. I’m talking about the special kind of aluminum here, that is used to build the bodies of fighter jets like their F-16s and F-35s.

That same aluminum is used to make the frames of military trucks and even some of the equipment that keeps their troops safe overseas. Now, if the border closes, those aluminum shipments stop and they would be very difficult to replace (almost impossible)!

The Pentagon would be left scrambling. Imagine trying to defend their own country with an outdated fleet because they couldn’t get the materials they need. It sounds like something out of a movie, but it’s a very real risk, a risk that they obviously haven’t given appropriate consideration on.

But it doesn’t stop with the military. Civilian industries rely on this aluminum, too. Construction, airplanes, power lines, even the cans you buy at the grocery store. All of that would be disrupted as they simply cannot replace aluminum themselves.

Factories would slow down, jobs would dry up immediately and be lost, and the cost of everything from cars to canned goods would go up exponentially .

But that’s just the beginning. Next in the critical path is our uranium? They don’t have any of this either! Uranium keeps the lights on in more than 30 of their 50 states. Here’s something you probably never think about, but every time Americans flip on a light switch, there’s a good chance they’re using power that comes from nuclear energy. And a huge chunk of the uranium that powers those nuclear plants comes from Canada. We’re talking about reactors in states from Texas to New York, California to Illinois. And possibly more significantly, their nuclear submarines and air craft carriers would be immediately dry-docked.

These reactors can’t just switch to a different fuel overnight and doing so would require massive investments and over a decade in time and that is IF they can find alternative fuel, which is not very likely. They need uranium, and they need it constantly. If those shipments from Canada suddenly stop, those plants have no choice but to start shutting down and that’s really where the rubber meets the road.

You see, nuclear power plants don’t just turn off like a flashlight. It takes weeks and/or months to safely restart them once they’ve been shut down. That means that within days or even weeks, large sections of America would be facing rolling blackouts. Hospitals, businesses, and homes would all be affected.

Imagine a summer heat wave with no air conditioning, or a winter freeze with no heat. Picture cities going dark with people relying on candles and warm cloths, and picture the chaos that would follow.

And I want to make myself clear here, this isn’t a hypothetical. It’s a real possibility if the border ever closes!

And then there’s America’s entire agricultural industry that relies on Potach, the fertilizer that grows 80% of America’s corn and soy and produce. Let’s talk about food. Most people don’t realize that a little bag of white crystals called potach is what makes America’s fields productive. And more importantly, without it, corn and soybeans just don’t grow the way they should. And corn and soybeans are the backbone of American agriculture again not to mention the food they depend on to survive!

And here’s the scary part. Canada supplies over 80% of the potach that US farmers use every year. If that supply vanished overnight, the impact would be felt on every dinner table in the country. Farmers would watch their crops wither, yields would drop, and soon the effects would ripple through the entire food supply chain. The price of corn, wheat, beef, pork, even the cereal that America feed its kids would literally explode.

Supermarkets would start to look a lot like ghost towns. Their shelves would be empty over night! People would start to panic buy whatever they can find and get their hands on. Massive hunger would set in.

And the ripple effect would be felt not just in rural areas, but in every city and suburb across the nation. This isn’t just about higher grocery bills. It’s about food security. A country that once exported food to the world might suddenly be scrambling to import what it can’t grow and all because a single border crossing is blocked and Trump tariffed Potash. My theory is that we should put Export Tax on everything America so desperately needs.

Here’s something Americans probably never think about, but every time they flip on a light switch, there’s a good chance they’re using power that comes from nuclear energy supplied by Canada.

And a huge chunk of the uranium that powers those nuclear plants comes from Canada. We’re talking about reactors in states from Texas to New York, California to Illinois. These plants can’t just switch to a different fuel overnight. They need uranium, and they need it regularly. If those shipments from Canada suddenly stop, the plants have no choice but to start shutting down.

And the main sleeper in all this is the actual steel rails that move freight across and throughout America. When you think about the backbone of American industry, what comes to mind? Those railroad tracks are Canadian owned!

To a lot of people, it’s the highways and the trucks. But the real backbone is the rail system. About one third of the steel used to build and maintain America’s freight railroads comes from Canada and the trains that run on them are Canadian. That’s the steel that moves coal, grain, cars, chemicals, and every other product that keeps the American economy running. The entire country would shut down literally over night!

If the border closes, those steel shipments stop. Railroad tracks start to degrade. Repairs are delayed, and soon freight trains are stuck, unable to move the goods that keep factories running and stores stocked. But Canada also owns the trains and the tracks that run directly from Canada through America to Mexico without any duties or taxes as the trains are bonded carriers.

But it doesn’t even stop there. A huge portion of the steel used in American car manufacturing also comes from Canada. That means the frames for American family’s next Ford, Chevy, or Tesla might not even make it to or off the assembly line.

Factories would slow down, jobs would be lost, and the ripple effect would hit everyone from the workers on the line to the customers waiting for their new cars. The results would be, traffic jams on the highways, empty shelves in the stores, workers unemployed and a nationwide supply chain crisis that could last for months.

But here’s the real kicker. the number one thing America would run out of first is the heavy crude oil that their Midwest refineries are set up to process. America produces lots of its own oil but it’s a much lighter more refined crude oil and they cannot process it. They need Canada’s unique thick, heavy oil and there’s literally nowhere else to turn to. Venezuelan crude comes close but no cigar and don’t get caught up in the latest lie about America grabbing their oil! Venezuelan oil fields are dilapidated and run down and will require billions of dollars to restore to the point where America will see any of it.

And converting their equipment to anything else but Canadian crude would be excessively difficult for them and cost billions to retrofit so America is totally dependent on Canada!

If those shipments from Canada were to stop, the Midwest’s refineries don’t just slow down, they shut down. Within days, the entire nation faces a severe gasoline shortage for their cars. Truck drivers can’t refuel their diesel trucks and they are what brings all the groceries to Supermarkets. And cities like Chicago could find themselves facing empty shelves and no gas.

Imagine trying to get to work and finding no fuel at the pump. Imagine trying to get groceries and finding the aisles bare. Imagine the economic impact as businesses close, deliveries stop, and the entire country grinds to a screaming halt! This is not theoretical! It is what comes if America forces this fight!

This isn’t just an inconvenience. This is a full-blown crisis, and it could happen faster than anyone realizes. If Canada closed the border, it wouldn’t just be a problem for politicians or big corporations. It would be a problem for every single person in the United States of America. No aluminum for the military, no uranium for the power plants, subs or aircraft carriers, no potash for the farmers, no steel for the trains and their cars, and no gasoline for the everyday American. This sounds like one of those fights America is picking that it simply cannot win. That’s why I’ve long said that ultimately Trump and America are planning to take over our country.

And the scariest part, this isn’t some far-fetched sci-fi scenario. It’s a real possibility. It could happen because of a trade dispute, a political crisis, or even a natural disaster. So, what would you do if you woke up one morning and gas stations were all empty? And I haven’t even touched on the water that they feel entitled to, or the oats that they don’t grow but eat every day.

What would you do if the grocery shelves were stripped bare? What would you do if the power went out and it never came back on? This is the blatant stupidity that America is wilfully approaching! Every American must ask themself “if you ever thought about how much your everyday life depends on things that come from just across your northern border?

Because the truth is and the facts are that America and Canada are more connected than most people realize and yes Mr. Trump and all Americans out there . . . . . . even the deaf, dumb and blind kid could tell you that America needs Canada!

As always, I’m Charles
