Today I’m going to talk about some of the lies being told to Canadians by Canada’s Conservative Party and most notably the Party’s so-called Leader who has an observable fixation on maligning and disparaging our Prime Minister using intentional lies. This is a clear example of just how dysfunctional our political system has become.
The main thing that has historically separates Canadians from Americans has always been that Canadians tell it like it is and Americans rely on snake oil salesmen to present their case.
For example Pierre Poilievre is on record alleging that Prime Minister Carney has been “globetrotting” “grandstanding” and “accomplishing nothing“! Just like in baseball . . . three strikes and you are OUT!
Now, Prime Minister Carney could get an award for the amount of travel he has endured over the past 14 months since being elected by the majority of Canadians primarily to face Donald Trump in his efforts to destroy our country, take it over and grab our massive inventories of natural resources that America does not have and has to import. Canada has historically been America’s number one trading partner furnishing the majority of America’s vitally imported goods (like aluminium, oil, electricity, uranium, rare minerals, water, and the list goes on and on).
Why any rationally thinking person would have intentionally disrupted that synergy is beyond me! The only rational thing that I can come up with dates back decades to Americaq’s “Russia, Russia, Russia” issue that alleged that Donald Trump “was owned by the Russians“. I have no idea or concrete evidence that he was, is or never has been a Russian spy or plant or whatever on might call such a traitor. I do know that most of his residential condo developments we substantially financed with Russian money. that, at the time was being money laundered. That’s over 25 years ago!
Today I want to address Mr. Poilievre’s position that I heard him say on Canadian News “PM Carney has achieved nothing from all this globe trotting in over 15 months of globetrotting“. Two significant lies in one brief statement shows that he is a bad-faith actor. I must state again here that I am A-political and have never belonged to any “political Party“.
Things were going relatively smoothly between Canada and America until Donald Trump’s second term when he employed his usual strategy of lying through manipulation of existing law and alleged that America’s Fentanyl problems were the result of the drug entering America through the Canadian/American boarder.
The facts, especially those published by the American government itself exposed this to being absolutely false and they published that “less than 1% of Fentanyl actually came into America through Canada“. The lie was to support his seriously flawed Tariff fantasy. I said over 15 years ago (search it here on simplycharles.com using his surname) that what will ultimately destroy him is himself and what we are watching today is his total self destruction and he’s taking America along with him.
That has little to do with me but I see efforts once again being consciously applied here in Canada by Mr. Poilievre who is publicly referred to as “Maple MAGA” with sufficient enough hard copy evidence to say that he is literally following the American playbook of MAGA. And I’ve learned that “over 50% of Canada’s Conservative Party recently said in a poll that Donald Trump is doing a good job“. Now, come on please! So based on this evidence I would strongly recommend supporting Prime Minister Carney and stop supporting the Conservative Party and specifically its Leader.
If these lies keep up, we everyday Canadians will have to do something drastic like sue them for, at minimum malfeasance. Our country has been at war, literally at war for going on 2 years yet our concept of governance and/or democracy is that we tax payers should shut up and pay all these $400k+ salaries a year to have them attack our Prime Minister with lies! Are you kidding me?! My ebooks here on simplycharles.com are being sold with the proceeds going to finance fixing all these time bombs.
So, to get back on topic, on May 28th 2026 our Prime Minister, while enduring a constant barrage of lies from the President of the United States and his emissaries openly attacking our country, walked into the Economic Club of New York (talk about going to the adversaries turf). The audience included find managers, investment chiefs, and senior banking executives from across America.
Prime Minister Carney, as always, was calm and collected, stood up and told this most powerful financial group of leaders on earth “Canada had signed over 20 economic and security deals in the past 12 months alone“. He went on to inform this group of financial elites the “Canada was on track to double its entire global consumer market this year“. He said “Canada was capitalyzing $1 Trillion in new investments over 5 years“.
He then said “Canada no longer needed one single partner“. No anger, no threats, just cold hard facts delivered calmly. Did I say that the room was filled with the financial elites of America? Possessing the class to handle this magnitude of a challenge is not something just anyone can do. It would be unrealistic to assume that any novice to this level of challenge could survive it but Prime Minister Carney walked through it with grace and ease.
To understand why this croud of financial titans went silent we have to go back 14 months or so in March 2025. That’s when Mark Carney became Prime Minister during one of the most volatile times in Canadian history. The Liberals had been 25 points down to the Conservatives in polls and the future was threatening as the world was threatened by Trump and I mean physically threatened and at the time, Canada had had no viable counterpart to stand up to him.
Trump had already slapped a 25% Tariff on most Canadian goods entering America and Canada retaliated with tariffs on $30 billion in America products. We later escalated to $155 billion. The Trade WAR was on and it was escalating and costing both economies badly! And ultimately as a gesture of good will we dropped our tariffs as they would only hurt Canadian consumers and cause inflation. America lacked the class to respond in kind. To this day the American people are paying the tariffs on top of the conventional prices of their daily needs.
Canada’s exports to the United States fell by 29.4 billion in 2025 compared to 2024. That constituted a 29.4 billion dollar hole. It is important to understand that this was what Prime Minister Carney inherited. I am offended when I see Mr. Poilievre on the news that our economy is bad when the facts show that the economy was in the toilet and circling the drain hole when Prime Minister Carney accepted the job.
Right out of the box Prime Minister Carney, in his first week on the job, made a decision that most politicians would have avoided. He didn’t ask Washington to back down. He started what Mr. Poilievre called: “Jet setting around grandstanding about being Prime Minister“. How utterly offensive and unacceptable by any kind of a Leader! The constant cheap shots against our extremely busy and challenged Prime Minister should not be overlooked as well as it represents a serious blemish on our democracy.
Between March 2025 and May 2026 Prime Minister Carney traveled to 25 countries across 17 international trips. Now, that may not seems like a lot to Mr. Poilievre or to anyone who hasn’t traveled like this, but I did for years running back and forth to and from Hong Kong to sell Canadian residential condominium investments to wealthy Chinese wanting their money out of Hong Kong during the reversion of the Colony to the Communist Party.
The challenge of restructuring our global trade was a mammoth challenge and fortunately we were not left to the Conservatives and Mr. Poilievre. We have a world-class Economist with an Oxford PhD, with decades at the top of Goldman Sach, as well as having navigated Canada’s financial crash of 2008 and directing the Bank of England through Brexit. You cannot just put some guy that has no business track record at all only ever having been elected to public office right out of school into the job of Prime Minister of Canada! Put your Party bias aside and call up your common sense. No college degree needed . . . just good old common sense.
If Canada was a company and you were the owner of that company would you entrust the management of that company to someone with a background that included nothing but being a member of parliament for 20 years right out of school, as leader of the party got himself voted out of the job and got it back due to another MPP giving up his riding victory in a rigged election?
This is the common sense I’m talking about. Get over this Party bias! It’s childish! Breeds corruption and is detrimental to the country’s very existence. Maple MAGA is already here and is apparently doing just fine within the Conservative Party. The Party problem is the problem and is something that has to be fixed and with the majority of Canadians not voting at all is another indicator that the system is flawed.
The first real test on Prime Minister Carney’s strategy came on September 24th 2025 when Canada signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with Indonesia, a country of 280 million people giving Canada it first ever bilateral free trade deal with any ASEAN country. Indonesia’s GDP stood at 1.9 trillion in 2024. On the same day we signed this deal America was filing new tariff orders.
Canada’s non-US goods exports rose 15.8% in 2025 equating to a 27% or $6 billion increase in trade for Canada. Calgary’s non-US exports jumped 64.67% between 2024 and 2025 and Toronto’s non-US exports grew by 32.82% in the same period.
So, let me conclude by saying that there is no room in Canadian politics or democracy for liars and if we taxpayers are paying around $400,000 per MPP per year and they are behaving anything even close to the way the Conservative Party of Canada is behaving at present then we taxpayer have to get together an stop the stupid!
We now are facing two stupidity issues, one Donald Trump and two Mr. Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada.
