Prime Minister Carney’s successes in a very short time just kept piling up!

Prime Minister Carney’s strategy was not telegraphed loudly. It was actually being executed quietly on spreadsheets and in boardrooms without threats, fanfare or hostility. Prime Minister Carney, despite being called names and having lies told about an to him from the Whitehouse and America’s Ambassador and Lead Trade Official, remained calm and professional throughout all the drama imposed by the US.

And while US officials were negotiating more unlawful tariffs, our Canadian negotiators were in Brasilia, Jakarta and New Delhi simultaneously. Our trade minister confirmed in May 2026 that our negotiating teams were deployed almost every week.

Deals with Mercur, Azan, India, Thailand and the Philippines were all advancing toward conclusion simultaneously. When all those deals closed Canada’s trade accessible consumer market doubles from $1.5 billion to over $3 billion.

That’s not just a trade strategy. It is a complete architectural redesign of and entire national economy! And the man who designed it walked into New York and calmly explained to Wall Street’s financial elite that Canada is the number on country for investment going forward.

The attendees at the meeting knew, for example, that the Indonesia deal was just the opening chapter because, by the time Prime Minister Carney spoke in New York, the deals kept literally stacking up after the Indonesia signing and by that time Prime Minister Carney was already boarding another flight.

On January 13th 2026 he landed in Beijing, a sizemic shift in global trading architecture. Beijing had slapped retaliatory tariffs worth over $2 billion on Canadian agriculture products in 2024. Canola seed, one of Canada’s most valuable crops were hit with tariffs of 85%. Canadian lobster, crab, canola meal, and peas all faced punishing Chineses tariffs simultaneously.Chinese goods had fallen by 10% in 2025 as a direct result for us siding with America 100% tariff on EVs.

In their first meeting in Beijing Chairman Xi and Prime Minister Carney agreed to drop canola tariffs from 85% to 15% That single reduction in tariffs was worth roughly $4 billion annually to Canadian canola producers. China reopened beef market access for 20 registered Canadian meat establishments starting January 15th, 2026. Before the suspension Canada’s beef exports to China had been valued at $193 million annually.

Canada in return agreed to allow 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles into Canada at a reduced tariff from 100% back down to 6.1% annually.When Mr. Trump found out he threatened 100% tariffs Canadian goods to, in his mind, punish Prime Minister Carney. Again and consistent with his conduct prior, Prime Minister Carney’s response was calm, respectful and direct. “Canada was honouring its Cusma obligations and diversifying lawfully.

Prime Minister Carney’s message sent out to every financial market watching was unmistakably clear and strategically calculated. The China reset opened a market that is Canada’s second largest trading partner by volume. China’s total bilateral trade with Canada was confirmed at $13.4 billion in agricultural exports alone in 2024.

The Economic Club audience in New York understood that reset had just cost American farmers enormously. Canadian canola flowing freely into China at 15% is canola not competing for American buyers. Are you getting to understand why I use the word “lies” and “lying” when it comes to what America is saying to us? This is what will destroy America quicker than anything else as the most valuable commodity in the world, even greater than money, is trust and America has destroyed itself by showing everyone that they cannot be trusted.

Two months following his successful Beijing Trip Prime Minister Carney was in New Delhi meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two nations had been barely speaking for over two years over Sikh activism had frozen any relationship.

Prime Minister Carney arrived in India on March 2nd 2026 and reset that relationship as well with documented speed and agility. Canada and India signed a landmark uranium supply deal worth $2.6 billion Canadian, roughly $1.9 billion US. India is the world’s fastest growing economy and was Canada’s seventh largest trading partner in 2024. Bilateral trade between the two countries stood at just $8.5 billion US at that time. They intend that to grow to $50 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. That is a 588% increase from the 2024 baseline in under 6 years!

Just 3 days before his New York Economic Club meeting India’s commerce minister flew to Ottawa with a full delegation that was described officially as “the largest Indian business mission ever to visit Canada“. Over 100 Indian companies attended, representing energy, mining, pharmaceuticals, Ai, textiles and automotive sectors. This deal alone would add 1.4 billion people to Canada’s trade accessible consumer base.

And let’s not forget the Azon, Merkashure, Thailand, Philippines deals that are all advancing toward successful conclusions simultaneously. That’s an additional 3 billion consumers, double the current reach, added in under 18 months! And the Conservatives are telling anyone that will listen that Prime Minister Carney has not delivered ANYTHING!

And, oh yes, the UAE deal added yet another dimension to this success story that the financial press has largely overlooked and underplayed.In November Prime Minister Carney had flown to Abu Dhabi and sat with UAE President Shik Muhammad bin Zed and signed a foreign investment promotion and protection agreement, a legally binding bilateral framework.They also formally launched negotiations toward a full comprehensive economic partnership agreement with the UAE.

But the number that made headlines globally was the investment commitment attached to that visit specifically. The UAE pledged 70 billion Canadian in direct investment into the Canadian economy. Now when Conservatives and/or Leader Pierre Poilievre come screaming about “no deals being made by Prime Minister Carney” you can rest assured that they are simply lying to you. Facts don’t lie only people do.

Mubadala Investment Company, the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund managing over $300 billion globally was central. Targeted sectors included Canadian LNG projects, critical minerals processing, AI infrastructure, and energy technology investments. A Canadian mining journal report confirmed a $1 billion critical minerals processing deal was already in finalization.

So, the next time some Conservative “talking head” is heard saying that our Prime Minister is just “jetsetting around the globe grandstanding on our dollar” please, for me, tell them to stop with the lies and misleading the Canadian voter. Having them constantly doing so is offensive, unethical, unacceptable and definitely un-Canadian. And if this is really the best you have to offer I would respectfully ask you to find another line of employment. I don’t want my tax dollars going to liars who are guilty of malfeasance.

And here is bottom line in all of this! To make things as easy for every Canadian that cares, here is a quote as recent as today (June 3rd, 2026) that shows Pierre Poilievre complete lack of personal integrity (thus it is a direct reflection of the Conservative Party of Canada) where accuses our Prime Minister publicly falsely stating : “hiding behind a negotiating table for six months while the Mexicans are eating our lunch“.

This intentionally false statement by the Official Leader of the Opposition Party is sufficient grounds in any arena to have him termination for cause if in the real world where all of us taxpaying everyday Canadians live!

Any unbiased Canadian citizen that reads this two part simplycharles blog will know what is observably dysfunctional as a government structure here. We taxpayers are paying an entire party of MPPs (average salary approximately $400,000 a year) to lie about absolutely everything and anything to oppose everything that the man the majority of Canadians voted in to do a job that not many people in the world would prove competent to do, especially dealing with an irrational conman running what was one of the most powerful nations in the world.

America is about to become irrelevant in my opinion but what I’m prepared to fight for is not allowing the corruption that comes with MAGA to enter into our politics. Pierre Poilievre has literally copied Donald Trump’s game plan that won him the Presidency of the United States. But Canadians are not that dumb as long as they are informed but our conventional media has failed us through them focussing on making money selling advertising.

I’ve come out of my very well earned retirement to address the deplorable condition of our politics in Canada that I’ve become aware of since I retired. The structure that suggests conning works is a seriously flawed concept that I know Canadians won’t allow into our daily lives but Mr. Poilievre and his gang, Daniel Smith in Alberta and her gang of Seperatists, and others have shown me that the corruption is seeping into the Canadian fibre, and this is worth giving up my retirement and I hope it is worth you becoming involved to help me make this right.
